All orchestra classes will focus on the following objectives:

• Expand tone production

• Develop an ear to sense and make pitch adjustments

• Increase left and right hand technical ability

• Increase musical language and sight-reading ability

• Develop habitual practice discipline

• Develop performance ability and self-esteem

• Explore increasingly difficult music

• Develop a functional understanding of Music Theory

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Winter and Spring Concert Performances are mandatory

• Before/After school group lessons may be required

• Students must keep fingernails trimmed

• HS Orchestra student activity fee ($60)

• MS Orchestra student activity fee ($30)

• Sibling discount for families with more than one student in orchestra

• Throughout the year we will have fundraisers to benefit the Orchestra Booster Club

• TPS Orchestra Curriculum uses the "Habits" books by GIA publishing

• All students can find supplemental materials
